Odaiba
A large Gundam statue, a colorful behemoth,
To represent this town, a vivid surprise,
From the moment you get off at the train station,
To the moment you get on, it's a feast for the eyes.
Bright varied colours is the name of the game here,
A festival for all whether old or a kid.
Which, of course, makes perfect sense when
The way back to Tokyo, is across the Rainbow bridge.
A giant pink cat lends an entrance to all,
To a cafe inside where felines roam free,
And for a small price, you'll absolutely fall
in love with having coffee, with a kitten, in a tree.
A Ferris wheel stands, each car a different color,
The most famous of spectra, a rain-bowed construction,
Next to an arcade full of young Japanese students,
Impressing their girlfriends on dance, dance revolution.
A prophylactics store, with cartoon characters,
Across its window for all to see.
Innocent enough, when seen at first glance,
Look a little longer, and you might just decree
"That's quite inappropriate"...."Right around the children!!!".
Then realize in a flash, exactly where you are,
"Japan of all places", where they're just a little odd,
just a little weird, and just a little peculiar.
And if by the evening you feel a little tired,
As Odaiba captures your heart and sets aflame your mind,
Oedo Onsen is the place to retire,
Where the spas are aplenty, for a chance to unwind.
So if at some point you happen by Tokyo,
Take time out of your day for a moment to visit,
This happy little artificial island,
I assure you, your life will be the better for it.
